CASUAL WEEKLY CLASS: RETURNING STUDENT
PREREQUISITE: You must have throwing experience!*
Have you finished our four week "Complete Throwing Basics" course and are looking for more? Then casual weekly classes are for you!
From beginners through to potters of all levels, this class is structured to help you learn to improve your skills on the wheel or try your hand at sculpting or hand building. Come along and enjoy a fun and relaxed class while learning new skills.
There are no fixed terms here, casual classes are flexible. Attend classes as often as you like, on any day you wish!
Pottery tools, materials and firing are additional. Tea, coffee and chilled water is available.
What you will learn:
- How to knead your clay
- How to centre your clay on the wheel
- How to form cylinders
- How to create simple bowl forms
- How to turn your forms
- How to pull handles and attach them to cylinders to create coffee mugs, jugs etc.
- Basic glazing and decorating techniques
- Creating many different forms including casserole dishes, flatware such as plates and platters, and much much more.
*PREREQUISITE: You must have completed our four week "Complete Throwing Basics" course or be an experienced potter to sign up as a casual student. If you have tried throwing before but need advice around determining which course to start with, please call or email us to discuss your past experience and we will assist :)

PLEASE NOTE:
Class will be cancelled if less than 6 people are enrolled (this has never happened) in which case all payments will be refunded. All other deposits and class payments are non-refundable but will be held and transferred to another class of your choice (assuming there is a vacancy for a term of 12 months from date of payment).
Please also note that this class may not be suitable for children under 14 years of age due to needing to be a certain height to use the wheel.
All work from this class will be kept at the Studio for a period of 3 months, after which time, any uncollected items will be disposed of.

- How to hand build simple forms
What you will get
- A variety of basic skills using various tools to create various forms with clay.
Please drive past the house to the white shed. Parking in front of shed.
What to bring
- Please bring an old towel (full bath size, please no hand towels).
What to wear
Please wear old clothes as you will get messy. Please note that shoes must be worn in the studio at all times.

We have set up our studio to bring together pottery and ceramics in a combined space and to be an affordable, fun place where anyone can come and enjoy creating with clay. Our studio is a place where there are very little rules except to respect your fellow artists, their work and the studio, to relax and learn that there is no end to the possibilities when working with clay..........

Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
You may cancel anytime before class starts and claim a full refund or transfer.

Terms & Conditions
Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at SaJo Ceramics or organised by SaJo Ceramics must agree to these terms and conditions.
1.) LIABILITY WAIVER
I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by SaJo Ceramics.
2.) PHOTO & VIDEO
I agree to give SaJo Ceramics unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at SaJo Ceramics classes and events or on SaJo Ceramics's premises. (For use of SaJo Ceramics marketing materials).
